From "going global" to "going deeper," China's construction machinery industry embarks on a new narrative of high-end globalization.
On March 4, 2026, the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (NPC and CPPCC) convened as scheduled, with "high-level opening-up" becoming a hot topic. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away in Las Vegas, the 37th CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 (Construction Machinery Exhibition) was grandly opened. At this top-tier global construction machinery event, the Chinese construction machinery contingent, represented by SDLG, showcased its full range of high-end new products, demonstrating to the world China's firm steps towards moving towards the high end of the global value chain.

Currently, the global industrial and supply chains are undergoing profound restructuring, and the consensus among manufacturing enterprises is that "if you don't go global, you'll be left behind." As national industrial capacity continues to expand and domestic demand growth stabilizes, seeking broader markets and integrating global resources becomes a natural extension of industrial upgrading. China's construction machinery industry is at such a historical juncture—after decades of accumulation, it has acquired a complete industrial system and strong manufacturing capabilities. "Going global" is no longer an option, but an inevitable path to achieving high-quality development.

The shift from "exporting" to "going global" is not simply a matter of moving goods; it represents a comprehensive transformation from "selling products" to "managing brands," from "utilizing resources" to "integrating the ecosystem," and from "passively responding" to "actively shaping" the global landscape. At the policy level, the nation is building a robust support system for enterprises going global: promoting the internationalization of the RMB, expanding cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and strengthening the protection of overseas interests. Recently, at local People's Congresses and Political Consultative Conferences, "opening up to the outside world" has become a frequently used term, and a series of measures to support enterprises in achieving high-level "going global" have been introduced, providing clear guidance for enterprises' globalization strategy.、

The overseas expansion of Chinese construction machinery companies is a vivid microcosm of this transformation. Data shows that from January to November 2025, my country exported 104,000 excavators, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%. More noteworthy is the qualitative change in the overseas expansion model—from simply exporting products to building localized production capacity, and from "going out" to "going in."

Behind this change lies a substantial improvement in the competitiveness of China's construction machinery industry. After years of dedicated development, Chinese construction machinery companies have achieved the strength to compete with international brands in product reliability, technological innovation, and service systems. Especially in the fields of electrification and intelligentization, Chinese companies are leveraging their late-mover advantage to take the lead in certain niche markets. With the start of interest rate cuts in Europe and the US, continued urbanization in emerging markets, and an overall recovery in overseas demand, 2026 will be a crucial year for Chinese companies to accelerate their globalization strategy.

In this wave of overseas expansion, SDLG, after more than 50 years of dedicated development, has grown from a local manufacturing company into a leading force in China's construction machinery industry. In recent years, with the acceleration of internationalization, SDLG is ushering in a new stage of corporate development—a strategic leap forward driven by independent innovation and characterized by global resource allocation.

Wang Zhizhong, Chairman of Lingong Group, clearly stated that Lingong has the strength to compete with international brands. In the future, it will fully expand into international markets, achieving a fundamental leap from "market internationalization" to "corporate internationalization," and has established a new development strategy: "Specializing and optimizing traditional product lines, appropriately expanding strategic emerging product lines, and achieving product clustering, technological modernization, efficient management, and corporate internationalization," with the core being "corporate internationalization." Under this strategic guidance, Lingong has proposed the goal of "recreating a new Lingong overseas"—achieving a global layout and deep localization across the entire value chain, including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, service, capital, and talent.

To achieve this goal, Lingong has established a new internationalization strategy of "comprehensive advancement, key breakthroughs, and building a new international landscape for SDLG": focusing on core global markets, implementing an independently accountable platform model, and fully empowering frontline staff; while systematically promoting internationalization in various fields such as marketing, after-sales service, parts supply, and financial management. Currently, SDLG has established subsidiaries and local teams in key markets such as North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and is promoting the construction of an efficient parts network of "1 global central warehouse + 7 multinational warehouses + 7 national warehouses," significantly shortening service response cycles.

Strategic visions are ultimately embodied in leading products. At this exhibition, SDLG, under the theme of "Global Power, Local Implementation," launched five new products across two major series: skid steer loaders and multi-functional all-terrain vehicles, catering to the urgent needs of the North American and global high-end markets for efficient, compact, and intelligent equipment.

Among them, the skid steer loader series covers all scenarios from refined urban operations to extreme field conditions, precisely responding to the North American market's core demand for efficient and reliable small equipment with its flexible operation, excellent passability, and versatility. The multi-purpose all-terrain vehicle series reflects SDLG's dual-track strategy in both new energy and traditional power, balancing environmental protection and energy conservation with reliability and durability under extreme conditions to meet the diverse needs of different customers. The launch of these two product series vividly demonstrates SDLG's commitment to its strategy of "appropriately expanding strategic emerging product lines."
